The M4 carbine is a variation of the M16A2 assault rifle, stemming from the AR-15 created by Eugene Stoner at ArmaLite. It is shorter and lighter than its predecessor, designed for close quarters combat. This gas-operated, magazine-fed weapon features a telescoping stock and 14.5-inch barrel, and is selective fire with a .223 caliber or 5.56 mm NATO round ammunition.
