M42 Rear Lenscap
thingiverse
This rear lens cap is designed for M42 "universal thread-mount" lenses, which were commonly used in Pentax, Practica, Zenit, and other SLRs until around 1980. However, M42 lenses have become popular again due to their compatibility with most digital cameras. The cap features an easily printable metric M42x1 thread on the inside and a grip pattern resembling the focus ring of many M42 lenses on the outside. The 1mm-pitch thread requires no tweaking, even with extrusions as coarse as 0.3mm diameter. Additionally, it looks cool in clear material. This cap serves as a useful part and also tests the printability of the creator's soon-to-be-released metric-compatible thread library.
