I experimented with this old night-vision device last night. At minimal distance without an adapter, the visibility range was approximately 3 meters, but I wanted to get even closer. I printed Murin's adapter, but it turned out to be too long for my needs. Luckily, Murin shared the FreeCad file, which allowed me to modify and create a shorter tube - although it was still a bit longer than necessary - before shortening it further to the absolute minimum length required, just 5 millimeters more than the thread length itself.
