M4 X M5 X M10 Bed Leveling Spring Bushing
thingiverse
This is a simple bed leveling spring bushing for installing oversized 5MM inner diameter, 10MM outer diameter springs on printer beds that use M4 mounting screws. Why? There are a variety of aftermarket bed springs available on Amazon, Ali Express, EBay, etc, with an assortment of characteristics. Most notable is that the bulk of these optional springs have flat ends. Flat ended springs are great for 3D printers in that they are less likely to bow and shift under pressure. The most commonly used replacement spring for 3D printers are yellow or blue in color, and there are variants on not only lengths, but their inner and outer diameters. For my main printer, my CTC A10S, which is a Creality CR-10 knockoff, I chose springs that are 25mm in length, with an inner diameter of 5mm and outer diameter of 10mm. While the most commonly used spring for these type printers have an inner diameter of 4mm and outer diameter of 8mm, I thought that having a wider surface for each corner of my heavy glass heated bed might offer greater stability. I designed these simple bushings to keep these upgraded springs centered on the mounting screws and to prevent the bed from shifting during bed leveling and during high speed Y axis travel. These bushings will only be useful on printers with 4mm bed screws using springs with 5mm inner, and 10mm outer diameters. I printed these with 100% infill and it took only 13 minutes to print all 4 at once.
