M3D spool holder 1kg
thingiverse
I purchased a 1kg Velleman PLA spool and needed a solution to utilize it effectively. This printer is currently in operation, so I cannot guarantee its functionality yet. Uses: * Four pieces of 688 bearings * Five pieces (approximately, as I have not measured them) of 10cm lengths of M8 rod I continuously make modifications to this setup. 150814 The hub and mount I have printed are now functional. The rod mount is currently printing, and I hope it turns out okay! 150817 I made the hub slightly smaller. 150819 Everything works perfectly! The internal filament guide (the black component) was obstructing my view, so I decided to remove it since I no longer use it. Do not make the same mistake – there are 16 cables inside, and it took me eight hours to disassemble the entire printer and identify which cable should be soldered to which cable. The printer is now back online, functioning flawlessly, but that was a poor decision. 150903 I have been testing this setup for approximately 50 hours, and it works wonderfully! I plan to replace the wooden sticks (pens) with aluminum soon, which will provide greater stability. It currently wobbles slightly, but functions admirably.
