One of the most straightforward ways to create a filament holder for 1Kg rolls on your M3D printer is described here. You'll only need one printed part (capable of being printed on an M3D) and a paint roller set available at any hardware store. The printed component is designed specifically for paint rollers featuring an 8mm round metal roller bracket. Additionally, a small roll holder can be found online: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1160306 To proceed: Print the .stl file and detach the plastic handle from the paint roller. Using a hacksaw, cut it into two halves. Wait patiently for your printer to do its magic. Next, remove the printed part from the printer and carefully take out any support material remaining inside the hole. Hold the metal bracket securely with pliers, then heat it gently for approximately one minute. Finally, insert it into the holder; the bracket will melt itself into place seamlessly. Verify that it is inserted properly and straight to ensure optimal results. To prevent damage, keep your distance until the piece has fully cooled down - voilà!
