I utilized and adapted the component from tsimon57 (kudos to him!). I believe the last version (v7) is the best, as there's ample space to fit on the extruder cover and you can secure the fan at the front. The previous versions are also extremely challenging to print due to excessive support requirements. In contrast, v7 only requires minimal support for the "hooks" section. My primary objective was to cool the extruder gear, because heat rises from the heater to the gear, and after a while of printing the filament becomes too soft within the "gearbox," causing the extruder to stop extruding. Used fan: * Dimensions: 25x25mm * Power supply: 5VDC * Thickness: 6mm (measured it and it's actually 7mm) I acquired this fan from eBay, and you can find similar ones here: http://www.ebay.de/itm/310877743698 To connect the fan to my Raspberry Pi, I soldered it onto a USB plug. Since I'm using OctoPi with M33-Fio, the fan is powered up whenever the OctoPi is online. Print Settings: Printer: Geeetech Prusa I3 Pro B Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 20%
