M3D Filament Guide V.3 (Angled)
thingiverse
Version 3.0 of the M3D Filament Guide: Angled Side Hook Design Ever curious, I set out to compare a purely vertical design with an angled version, but my initial experiment encountered some minor hiccups with filament not gliding smoothly through the opening. Rather than abandoning the concept entirely, I revisited the design and came up with something even better. Enter the simple side hook filament guide for the M3D micro printer. If you're currently using the M3D initial spool from their download section, this guide will greatly reduce the drag of the filament as it exits the chassis and engages with the spool holder hook. The opening in this guide is deliberately designed to allow the filament to enter and exit at a range of angles, significantly reducing friction and promoting smoother delivery to the extruder. It's been a collaborative effort thus far, with many thanks going out to tadd85 and FireFox_Gaming for their invaluable feedback. Future Developments: An updated version is in the works, leveraging the input from these helpful users. The next iteration promises even better performance, featuring an improved design that should allow smoother movement along the frame rails.
