M3D 8020 Mount
thingiverse
This mount makes it possible to attach 80/20 1010 extrusion to it, allowing me to create a spool holder using it. Plus, having T-slots on my printer gives me several options for mounting additional accessories. I made some adjustments to the Thing 770657 to make it compatible with 1010 extrusion. I recommend checking it out if you're interested in creating pipe-like supports for your mount. This design is being used in conjunction with my 8020 braces and filament holder found here: Braces:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:868136 Filament Holder:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:868784 For mounting a 1kg filament spool from Hatchbox, I cut two 7" extrusions from 80/20 of the size 1010. Next, I cut a center piece that is 5 1/8" top to attach it between the two vertical pieces. I have printed some custom support brackets [they will be available soon] and a customized spool holder that attaches directly to the horizontal extrusion. Once I confirm everything is working as expected, I will add the required files.
