M3 thumb wheel / knob / screw / Wing Nut
thingiverse
Assembles the entire setup using an M3 hex nut, which I conveniently created by printing it at a precision layer height of 0.4mm. To securely attach the nut in place, I carefully pounded it down with a rubber hammer. However, before attempting this process, ensure that you insert the screw through one side of the nut to guide the threading within the plastic components. To create these pieces, utilize the following settings: Wing thickness (wing_thin_d): 4 Thread diameter: 3 Roundness ratio: 30 Number of wing segments (wing_count): 5 Nut thickness: 2.3mm Nut diameter: 6.2mm Whether to use a hex nut or not: 1 Height of the wings (wing_h): 3 Thickness of wing core (wing_thick_d): 3 Total diameter of the final piece: 25 Horizontal extent of nut shoulder (nut_shoulder_x): 2.8 Vertical height of nut shoulder: 4
