I had an awful luck getting the printed T-nuts that use standard (hex) M3 nuts to work: misshapen prints due to weak adhesion (small contact surface), gummed up or destroying the T-nut thread when trying to heat-set them, falling off when press-fitting them, both when using glue. I finally tried making my own, using the M3 (outer diameter 4mm) heat-set inserts and they worked just fine. These lightweight nuts don't need any special orientation to print - just start with the flattest area. They are actually a little shorter than the heat-set inserts, so leave a bit of the insert sticking out, into the inside of the rail. The screw goes about 4-6mm in so use M3 x (thickness of the thing you affix + 4 or +6) screws.
