M3 Square Nut for E3D Hemera
thingiverse
If you're like most people, you've probably misplaced the square M3 nuts that came with your Hemera. Now you can print some easily. These provide ample torque for securing fan shrouds and other accessories to the Hemera's slotted mounting points. I rigorously tested a fan shroud mounted with these and it held up perfectly, using a moderate amount of pulling force without any failure. They can also be used for other purposes, as they are simply square M3 nuts not exclusive to E3D. The hole is threaded, the threads print well; worst-case scenario you can cut the threads with an M3 bolt by firmly tightening it. This should work for everyone, but if it doesn't let me know and I can release an un-threaded version sized for cutting the thread with an M3 bolt. I suggest printing in PETG for layer adhesion, although this may also work with PLA. Your main concern will be over-tightening and torquing the threads out! Just don't wrench on them, they behave similarly to a nylock nut and do not loosen much, so you won't need to tighten them much. I've added .Step and .F3d files for remixing purposes.
