M3 Screw Head Protectors
thingiverse
I've been converting empty filament spools to storage drawers using @SpectreGadget's customizable design (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2011130), using M3 x 20 screws to secure the drawers onto the spool. This creates a small issue though, especially if your screws are Phillips-head—scratching up the surface of whatever they're sitting on if you don't pick them straight up. My solution was to design a set of small plastic rings that should fit snug over the screw heads (at least on the M3 screws I use) and raise them sufficiently to avoid scratching whatever surface they're on. If they don't fit snug, it's fine; you can simply glue them into place and the screw remains movable for the drawers. I uploaded 3mm and 3.5mm tall versions, but the design should be easy to shorten or lengthen for whatever your purpose is. **Update 23 Jun 2022:** I found that because of their size, they tend to enlarge or shrink while cooling after printing, so you may have to scale them up or down depending on your needs. If you're in a pinch, you can oversize them and then fill them with easy-to-remove hot glue after placing them on the screw head to keep them in place.
