Ever got stuck with too many M3 nylon standoffs for your quadcopter builds but couldn't find the right size to match your new frame?\nHere's the first iteration of the Standoff Trimmer, perfect for those situations.\nThis nifty tool works with up to 50mm nylon standoffs and features an M3 bolt for alignment.\nIt also comes equipped with onboard measurements that let you make quick cuts.\nThe trimmer itself is made from 8mm carbon rod, while standard 39x19 square scraper blades take care of the actual cutting.\nCheck out the Instructions below to see how it works.\n\nInstructions:\nPrint the Main frame at a moderate to fast quality. Support is not strictly necessary but highly recommended for those who have issues with shaped holes.\nThe Axe requires a decent amount of support, which you can experiment with different orientations to achieve the best print for the blade slot.\nLaying it on its side seemed to work just fine in my case. \nTo assemble, slide 8mm carbon rod into place (I used some spare carbon lying around), and be sure to glue it once done.\nThen, remove any excess support material from the blade slot, carefully insert the sharp blade, file out the axle hole so it fits snugly, and screw in an M3 bolt - not too long, just about 5 mm above.\nThis acts as a stabilizing mechanism, keeping the standoff in place. Next, align the Axe to your desired length and hammer down onto the standoff with some force. Once done, remove any adjustments made to the standoff by unscrewing it. \nThe Standoff Trimmer is an unfinished project, which means there might be some tweaking required, but a little file magic can easily sort out any uneven cuts that result from cutting at a slight angle.
