M3 Nut Knob
thingiverse
I get really frustrated every time I have to search for my screwdrivers in the garage before I can work on my 3D printer. Most of these printers come with all sorts of parts and gadgets that need to be held together by an army of tiny screws. Since they are constantly getting disassembled and reassembled, the M3 nuts on them require constant releasing. This is where my clever little design comes in - a handy knob that can pop those stubborn nuts right out without needing any tools at all! This small but brilliant invention works best for M3 nuts from DIN 934. The process might take some trial and error since different printing quality levels will sometimes need a bit of glue to secure the nut snugly into its new home. To illustrate how incredibly useful this knob can be, just check out my own DIY projects - I've used it with an android IP camera quick release mount and even with my extruder's mounting system! Printer settings that worked like magic for me include: Rafts: completely unnecessary Supports: totally not necessary Resolution: 0.15mm, it doesn't make a difference in the final result. Infill density: 30-50% is perfect
