DISCLAIMER: This model for REFERENCE ONLY. This is a reference model for an M3 Knurled Nut w/ diameter recommendations. I have been looking to take my hobby projects and other prints to the next level. I started to implement these knurled nuts via solder heat press into my models for my M3 screws to thread into in order to have much more secure fastening. This model is based on these knurled nuts that I bought from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07D683Q26/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I modeled these nuts as close as I can with my set of calipers based on the nut I received from Amazon. I have included and engineering drawing of a sample assembly with an M3 screw, M3 knurled nut, and counterbored plastic with my recommended bore diameters. I put a small 5mm diameter step in the top of the bore so that the knurled nut can be placed directly over & centered over the bore and stay there while the soldering iron tip is heating the nut to melt into the plastic. Of course, you can play with your diameters to find what suits your project best. These measurements are just what I use. The last picture of the full assembly is what it would look like fully pressed with a screw threaded in.
