The M24 is widely recognized as the standard hand grenade of the German armed forces during World War II. In response to rapidly evolving warfare tactics, German soldiers typically wore the M24 in front, providing effortless access. However, towards the war's later stages, it became strongly recommended to carry them differently, due to the high likelihood that explosions or heat could ignite the fuse from a grenade on their belt, leading to unnecessary losses. The Model 24 Stielhandgranate was transported in custom-designed crates, which could hold up to 15 individual grenades.
