M2 X-Acto Knife and Cutter Holder
thingiverse
This tool carrier serves as an accessory to the MakerGear M2. This particular design holds an X-Acto knife and additional blades, alongside a filament cutter conveniently located on the right-hand side of M2's frame. As these two tools see regular use, creating a holder providing immediate access made perfect sense. My friend Rick Silz developed this file, lending invaluable support during my CAD software learning curve. Thanks for your attention to this work, and I hope you appreciate it! Instructions To assemble this tool carrier, I used vertical printing with PLA at a 0.25mm resolution. A two-layer shell combined with 30% hex infill slice profiles created the foundation for a solid structure. Securing the tool carrier to M2's frame utilizes a 25mm screw and matching nut inserted through an existing hole on the right-hand side of the frame. Optional double-sided tape placed between the holder and the frame helps stabilize the carrier from swiveling around the screw. The X-Acto knife shown in images is the Excell #15001, equipped to hold a #11 blade; meanwhile, the tool holder accommodates 14 - #11 blades stored within the square compartment at its top portion. A Hakko CHP-170 wire cutter sits neatly on an integrated hook placed on the model's side for easy storage and access.
