The built-in spool holder of M2 wasn't satisfactory for me, so I crafted an alternative that works better with heavier spools. It accommodates 5lb and 1kg spools from Ultimachine while utilizing the existing hardware and retaining the upper bearing holder of the original mount for maintaining filament guide positioning. This design was modeled in Rhino, and I added a 1" diameter version (untested). To install, print the new holder, unbolt the old one, and bolt on the new one using three of the four bolts at the upper part since the bottom is in compression. I used 3 perimeters and 25% infill with PLA, resulting in a sturdy holder that can withstand jumping up and down; you may opt for less material.
