M2 80mm fan side mount
thingiverse
To install an 80mm fan on a MakerGear M2's x-motor side of the gantry, use the press fit mount provided in the instructions. First, print the clamp test to determine the appropriate clearance for your specific setup. After determining the correct clearance, print the mount flipped around 180 degrees so that the prongs face upwards. Note that the fan does not require additional securing and may be adaptable for other uses such as a camera. However, caution should be taken to ensure that any mounted item does not interfere with the extruder's travel. The provided fan prongs were found to be fragile, so screw holes have been added instead. Use 6-32 or 8-32 1 1/4" screws with nuts for secure attachment. However, a follow-up update advises against this fan setup due to insufficient cooling at the nozzle. The files are still available for potential use by others.
