M1911 Rubber Band Gun

M1911 Rubber Band Gun

thingiverse

This is a 3D-printed M1911 semi-automatic rubber band gun. The design is inspired by parabellum1262's wooden M1911 model, seen in their YouTube video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBj7F6A3Aao. Key changes were made to simplify printing and assembly with minimal non-printed hardware required. Most parts are connected using printed snap-fit pins. However, two #4-20x1" plastic screws are needed to attach the barrel to the inner frame - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GDYL5PQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Currently, a fully 3D printed design is being pursued but has yet to produce a rigid enough result. Suggestions are welcome to improve this aspect. shunya0413 created an assembly video that can be viewed here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgMirFsgIhk&feature=youtu.be. The gun can hold up to 7 #12 rubber bands - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0035GE3YA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. Instructions on how to load the gun are available here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ck5_6zz_7c. Don't forget to print a target for this rubber band shooter, as it can be very effective: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1306585
