The tool was specifically created to assist in assembling and disassembling the M1 rifle. To ensure an exact fit, measurements were taken from the muzzle end of a late H&R M1 model featuring a prominent high-hump gas block, and a custom wrench design was developed accordingly. It will also accommodate earlier versions of the M1 rifle with no-hump gas blocks.
