M-508 Infitary Filament Holder
cults3d
We design this series of parts to keep the filament reel on top of the printer securely in place. The bearings play a crucial role in reducing the force exerted by the extruder, thus preventing breaks in the filament, skidding, and other issues. The design fits neatly onto the back of the LCD screen using the same screws as the printer. We utilize the rod acting as the axis, which can be used as the standard support; however, I recommend a longer 4mm rod for optimal performance. The bearings employed are similar to those found in skateboards and require a slight slack when fitted, just enough to tape the bearing on the outside with 1 or 2 turns before applying pressure. To avoid forcing it, I chose not to do so, given that the ribbon is less rigid than the filament. I've created two variants of the reel centering and capping devices: one simple design and another with bearings for added support and stability.
