The Legendary Airship

A Masterful Scale Model

In my extensive collection of scale models, the largest airship had to be a showstopper. History: The LZ 129 Hindenburg was a massive German commercial passenger-carrying rigid airship and the lead ship of the Hindenburg class. It was designed and built by the Zeppelin Company on the shores of Lake Constance in Friedrichshafen and operated by the German Zeppelin Airline Company. The airship flew from March 1936 until it met its demise in a fiery explosion just 14 months later on May 6, 1937, while attempting to land at Lakehurst Naval Air Station in Manchester Township, New Jersey, marking the end of its first North American transatlantic journey of its second season. This disaster claimed 36 lives and marked the final chapter in the history of great airship catastrophes. The 1:1000 scale models are particularly labor-intensive. That's why I'm curious to see if there are any kind-hearted enthusiasts out there who appreciate my work and would like to support me in some way.
