Lysias (c. 445 BC - c. 380 BC) was a skilled speech writer in Ancient Greece who made his mark on the world through his captivating orations. He stood among the elite group of ten Attic orators whose works were included in the esteemed "Alexandrian Canon" compiled by Aristophanes of Byzantium and Aristarchus of Samothrace during the third century BC. It is now on permanent display in the beautiful Gardens of the Palace of Versailles in France.
