Lyn-1
sketchfab
Lyn is a tyrosine kinase vital to B-cell activation pathway functioning. It activates ITAMs on IgA and IgB by phosphorylation, allowing the signal of the B cell receptor binding an antigen to be amplified further. This process results from the "Amplification of B Cell Antigen Receptor Signaling by a Syk/ITAM Positive Feedback Loop" study by Rolli et al in 2002. The structural data were accessed through the Protein Data Bank (http://www.rcsb.org/) using accession codes 1W1F, 4TZI, and 3A4O, as well as the ePMV plugin in Cinema 4D. This 3D model is a part of an interactive virtual reality project being developed by Ben Magod '17, Betsy Henson '17, Stephen Himmelberg '17, and Laurel Romano '17, created as part of the Fall 2016 BIOL 385 (Molecular Mechanics of Life) class at Washington and Lee University with assistance from the IQ Center.
