Lyme Park
thingiverse
Lyme Park is an extraordinary estate in Cheshire, England. A faithful replica of this impressive mansion is available to download and print using your own 3D printer. If you're captivated by the design of this model, please don't hesitate to explore my other remarkable models, such as Wentworth Woodhouse and Heveningham Hall. Background Story: A house has been standing on the grounds of Lyme Park since 1465, but it was demolished to make way for a grand new mansion constructed in the 16th century. The original L-shaped house still exists today, albeit with significant changes that included an added section at the back. It wasn't until 1820 that the remaining portions of the mansion were incorporated to create a picturesque courtyard. Around this time, the stately Palladian facade was also added to the rear of the property. Further improvements were made, but most of them focused on internal renovations or the construction of auxiliary buildings within the estate. In 1946, the estate was generously bequeathed to the National Trust, and now visitors are welcome to explore the majestic house. The Model: Though I haven't been able to capture a photo of my model yet, rest assured that it's soon to be showcased on my platform. To ensure absolute accuracy, I employed precise drawings and satellite images as reference materials while creating this replica. The model was printed using PLA plastic with a layer height of 0.2mm and an infill percentage of 10%, although I recommend opting for a significantly higher infill, such as 20% or 25%. Keep in mind that you should also be vigilant for signs of warping, which can occur with larger prints. Printing the model typically takes around 2.5 hours. Enjoy your journey into this architectural wonder!
