To enhance Lyman's spooler, I replaced nuts in latex rollers with printed cylinders for smoother movement. Positioning voltage regulators at the front was another modification. A cover and knobs for adjustment screws are planned improvements. Initially, a Wade's Reloaded extruder with stepper motor was used but later switched back to a gear motor due to filament tolerance issues. Instead of a hobbed bolt in Wade's, an 8mm bolt with 10mm tubing (McMaster.com #5102K442) is utilized. Springless motor arms require adjustment bolt mount for precise spool contact. Similarly, roller motor arm distance needs adjustment. Following the original spooler instructions, lock nuts secure rollers and threaded rods are spun with a drill to ease nut placement. Z tabs help support motor arms for exact height adjustments, while gears have been updated for increased accuracy.
