I created this press back in 2008, and after securing a patent that was issued in September 2009, I allowed it to expire. Over the last eight years, I've sold nearly one thousand presses, eventually discontinuing production due to age. The final model, V4, retailed for $85 on eBay with free shipping within the US. The video showcases my manufacturing process and demonstrates how to use the press to pad stacks of paper. It can handle up to 1000 sheets of 20 lb paper and is 11 inches wide. I can pad a stack in just four minutes, not counting the time it takes for the adhesive to dry. To build this press, you'll need: 1 MDF Base panel: 1/2" x 10-5/8" x 8-15/16" 1 MDF Back Plate panel: 1/2" x 4-1/2" x 11-1/16" 1 MDF Clamp Plate panel: 1/2" x 2" x 11" 1 MDF Clamp Bar panel: 1/2" x 2-1/2" x 12-3/8" 1 MDF Clamp Bar panel: 1/2" x 1" x 12-3/8" 9 3D printed parts, including 2 Clamp Arms and 2 Wedges 2 hardwood dowels: 1/2" x 11-7/8" 8 #6 x 1/2" Flat Head Sheet Metal Screws for MDF panel screws 4 #6 x 1/2" Round Head Sheet Metal Screws (dowel screws) Printing Settings: Printer: LymanBot 3D Printer V2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm Infill: 30% Post-Printing Instructions: Follow the video for assembly instructions.
