Lyman Motor Coupler
thingiverse
I needed a few extra parts to attach the motor to the auger shaft, so I designed and printed one. It's only 30mm long but connects to the motor using a "Hex Shank Socket Adapter". This adapter is available in different socket sizes at most hardware stores. I've listed some options from Lowes, which are conveniently located near me. The fact that it's made of ABS plastic is a plus - it's strong enough to handle the auger's rotation but weak enough to break if there's an issue, eliminating the need for a snap pin. I hope this helps anyone building a filament extruder or similar project using the Lyman Motor Mount motor. One important note: print this adapter as is, without any supports, and be prepared for a challenge removing them from the small openings.
