Lyham Moor 4 (April 2007)

Area on private farmland carved out between Chatton and Belford in Northumberland, a remnant of prehistoric times. Recorded as 'Lyham Moor 4' on the Beckensall Archive (BA), this ancient carving features a distinct design: A cup and two opposing arcs, along with another single cup. NADRAP added this record to ERA in 2008, describing one cup and two indentations that could be significant features of the site. The opposing arcs may actually be part of the topography of the stones, while the cup could have been placed there to utilize light and create a circular appearance. More information can be found on ERA & BA at https://archaeologydataservice.ac.uk/era/section/panel/overview.jsf?eraId=77. This 3D model was created from two stereo pairs taken by Kevin Malloy (NADRAP Team 1) using a 5mp Nikon Coolpix 5400 in April 2007. The imagery is part of the NADRAP / ERA archive, which has been deposited with Historic England & Northumberland County Council.
