sketchfab
Fossil remains of a Lepidodendron sp. stem, originating from Indiana's Carboniferous period, reveal distinctive diamond-shaped leaf bases. As a towering lycophyte, Lepidodendrales grew to tree-like proportions. This specimen, housed in the Cornell University Paleobotanical Collection at Ithaca, New York, measures approximately 20 cm in length, with its exact dimensions not directly recorded. The model for this reconstruction was crafted by Emily Hauf.
