LVT-3 Bushmaster (1944)
thingiverse
This model comes in three distinct versions: one features infantry inside while the other boasts a MB Willys jeep. The model was specifically designed to be printed on a resin printer like the AnyCubic Photon. Developed by the Borg Warner Corporation as their Model B in April 1943, it allowed for rear loading by moving engines to sponsons and installing a ramp at the back, making room for a Jeep in the cargo hold. Some received armor kits. First used in combat on Okinawa in April 1945. A total of 2,962 units were produced, with many remaining in US service until 1955 when they were finally replaced by the LVTP-5. It was powered by twin 148 brake horsepower (110 kW) Cadillac V-8 petrol engines and transmission like the M5 light tank, capable of carrying a payload of 9,000 lbs or 30 fully armed soldiers. The LVT(3)C performed efficiently and reliably, thanks to more maintenance time being available than during World War II's hectic days. The Marine Corps standard remained the LVT(3)C until the introduction of the first major post-war design, the LVT(P)5, in 1953. Its overall weight was 26,600 pounds (12,100 kg), and it had a maximum speed of 17 miles per hour on land or 6 miles per hour on water, with an operational range of 150 miles on land or 75 miles on water.
