One of the places associated with Lviv is a theater that has stood the test of time. According to an inscription in the lobby, construction on this building began between 1897 and 1900, and it has endured through numerous transformations over the years. For nearly four decades, it was known as the Ivan Franko Lviv State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet before being reborn in 2000 with a new name, one that honors Solomiya Krushelnytska, a legendary Ukrainian soprano from the early 20th century who called Lviv home.
