Lupine Reliquary (Wolf Box) for Dice (Updated)
prusaprinters
Big thank you to Printed Encounters who made the awesome original wolf model, Wolf Running (https://www.printables.com/model/131947-wolf-running).**UPDATE**I've added a snowy base that works for either wolf, I'm quite happy how it turned out. The regular one is a very tight fit, so there's a looser one if you don't want to use a lot of force to slot in the feet, or be able to remove it easier. Assembly: I recommend slotting the front foot in, so the back one is in contact with the stand and slightly forward of it's slot, then flex the back leg back until the claws clear the slot, and it should drop into the correct position. Printing: The base is supposed to look like slightly melted snow, so I recommend printing the top in white. Create a layer change to align with the flat spots, and the bottom surface (I used green for moss and blue for ice) is up to you. What's next?: I had fun learning the sculpting tools, so I'm up for making more bases. If anyone has any suggestions for a base they'd like to see, leave or like a comment and I'll try and make anything that's popular enough. Remember that it makes more sense as a soft material since the paws appear slightly sunk. Look forward to all your recommendations :)**END UPDATE** A wolf doesn't care how you think it should wear its pants, a wolf does what a wolf wants. That being said, please enjoy this ferocious wolf duo, each choosing to wear their pants a different way (just try to judge them for it, go on). You can keep your D&D dice protected while on the go, and your snacks protected while adventuring. Also, the tail is posable so you can make them wag, hehe. All jokes aside, these are cumbersome and silly, but I had a lot of fun making them and learning Blender in the process, so I hope they at least gave you a chuckle. The 2-legged-pants one (BoxB) comes apart pretty easily with only 3 magnet joints (I may work on a 4 magnet version at some point, but use some strong magnets for now). I'm also working on a base for the front paws to stand on. I'm trying to see if I can make the paws slot into paw-shaped holes so the paws don't need to be modified or glued in place. BoxA currently balances w/o base when filled with dice, but is not very stable. BoxB balances very poorly w/o base, but it can be done if you slosh the dice to the front half after closing it up. BoxA:Requires (14)-(18) magnets, 6mm Dia. x 3mm H (center 2 holes on main joint can be skipped if your magnets are strong)Holds (7) standard D4-D20 dice. Slots have clearance around standard dice, so there should be room for larger, non-standard dice (nothing comically large)BoxB- Requires (12) magnets, 6mm Dia. x 3mm H.Large cavities in both halves, I filled the front half with (16) 12mm dice and it didn't even fill it half way, ran out of dice to determine capacity. And yes, I could choose more current memes to 3D-ify, but this one hasn't been 3d printed before, as far as I could find.
