
Lunar sampling system

In my lunar sampling system proposal, a cylindrical unit combines drilling and sorting functions. The spiral divides into three sections for particles of various sizes - dust/small particles, rocks <1 cm, and rocks <2 cm. A collecting device under the spiral on a belt enables selective collection. Viewing the sorted material before storage in a basket allows user satisfaction. The belt system lets you collect small materials first, then larger stones, filling gaps and adjusting as needed. If particles are too big for the spiral, disposal is possible. A robot arm with electrical connection is necessary for lander use, while vibration devices can speed sorting. Made of aluminium with PTFE bearings, the system weighs <500g, requiring only one motor at a time to prevent power issues. Alex's design ensures efficient lunar sampling.
