<p>Hello there. I designed a ukulele shaped like a crescent moon. The name Luna is Italian for moon. If you are interested in 3D printing one, make sure you have a set of geared tuning pegs. Please enjoy.</p><p>Which version to print? I highly recommend the 'no_trussrod' version as that is the latest version. That one only requires two printable parts parts and the neck doesn't flex. The string action is lower too where the instrument becomes playable. I have included gcode files for the Prusa Mini+. The print uses lots of support material because the build plate is not large enough, but if you have a larger printer, you will be able to use much less support material.</p><p>How to assemble version 1.2: Slot in the neck into the body. If it is a press fit, then you will probably not need super glue. Use tuning pegs and screw them in. The head-stock is smaller than normal, so I had to overlap the tuning pegs together. I uploaded a photo of how the tuning pegs should be oriented when mounting them into place. Tie in one string at a time and tune the instrument. The strings will get out of tune at first, but once the strings rest, they will stay in tune.</p><p>How to assemble (old version): Slot in the neck into the body and then slot in the truss rod. On the truss rod, you need to have a 4m nut inside the rectangular hole then when you string up your instrument, add the bolt and tighten as needed.<br> <br>Parts: <a href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EQ23YFQ/">https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EQ23YFQ/</a><br>You can use whatever soprano/concert ukulele strings you want.
