The Lun-class ekranoplan is a cutting-edge ground-effect vehicle, masterminded by visionary engineer Rostislav Alexeyev back in 1975. From 1987 onwards, this revolutionary craft has been deployed by both the Soviet and Russian navies, serving with distinction until its eventual retirement sometime in the late 1990s.
