Lumix DSC-LX7 Tube Adapter for Neewer Macro Ring Light
thingiverse
This adapter snaps onto the bayonet-style mount of the Panasonic Lumix DSC-LX7 to allow the mounting of a a Neewer ring macro light and compatible lights. The diameter of the end that goes into the ring light is 83.7 mm. It's printed in two pieces to remove the necessity of support. Once the two pieces are printed, they are snapped together. The LX7 is still, in 2021, one of the best pocket cameras ever made. It has a super fast 1.2-2.1 Leica lens, is easy to use, has tons of manual controls, and fits in a shirt pocket. Its only real weakness is that the optical zoom only goes up to about 5x. It's killer for macro photography. I found this Newer ring macro light at a thrift store for $10 and it comes with adapters for many common threaded lens filters like the 62mm ones used on many 35mm lenses. But the LX7 has a proprietary bayonet interface on the camera side, so I made this to go between them. Since it is in two pieces, it would be easy to put a different front end on it for other filters and lenses. To use it, you must unscrew the ring on the front of the LX7's lens counter-clockwise to unlock the flange. Then you insert this into the same position to get the flanges under the ones on the camera, then rotate clockwise until it *clicks*. For this version a little gentle pressure was required on initial insertion to get past the little lock tabs.
