LumiDome balls are incredible 3X magnifiers that are super useful and a blast for kids too! They allow you to see an enormous area without moving the lens, unlike regular magnifying glasses which force you to move your head around. You can hold them steady in one spot while viewing a massive area - no need to rotate the glass. The 3-inch LumiDome is available at RadioShack for about $6. To use my stand, I printed it on my acceleration-enabled ThingOMatic in PLA at 70 mm/sec and 0.3 mm layer height with 3 extra shells. To attach your dome, gently press fit it into the holder - it's a snug but loose hold that lets you remove the dome when done.
