Replacement Lower Left and Right Z mounts for Lulzbot TAZ 6 printers allow Astrosyn dampers to be installed, providing extra clearance. The original Z-Lowers on the TAZ 6 will not clear rubber feet after adding dampers & re-assembly, making a shorter version necessary to connect the Z-screw to the motor shaft. These modified Lulzbot parts are 6mm shorter than originals, enabling flex couplings to fit and motors to clear tabletops. The reason for this modification is the "auto-leveling" feature of the TAZ 6, which causes Z motors to move constantly, even on the same layer, unless the printer is perfectly level. To minimize constant motor movement, a replacement was sought. Printed in Village Plastics ABS in Lulzbot Green filament, these parts were designed to reduce noise and vibration during printing. 80% infill was used for optimal performance. Replacing TAZ 6 Z-Lowers requires significant teardown; ensure you have the necessary tools and expertise before attempting this change. Doing so may void the warranty, and instructions should be consulted from Lulzbot's OHAI resources for assembly/disassembly guidance. Note: Adjustments to the flex couplings on Lower Z motors by ~1mm may be required for proper fit.
