Lulzbot Taz 6 Titan Aero Toolhead with Fan Shroud
thingiverse
A fully functional and tested toolhead mount for the E3D Titan Aero has been developed! This includes auto bed leveling geometry and cooling fan airflow path features that have been thoroughly verified. Designed to be incredibly lightweight while maintaining structural rigidity, this design has yielded impressive prints. To get the most out of it, I highly recommend using the Cura 2 Alpha from Lulzbot, which allows you to save your nozzle size in your machine profile and easily switch between toolheads: https://code.alephobjects.com/project/profile/10/. A lighter toolhead enables operators to work at higher acceleration, jerk, and speed settings, resulting in either faster prints or higher print quality at default settings. Personally, I stick with the default settings except for adjusting the jerk value to 20-30, which leads to more accurate corners and smoother parts that fit together seamlessly (Lulzbot really needs to incorporate LIN_ADVANCE into their firmware). The design files are available upon request. They were created using Fusion 360. If you'd like access to the repository, simply message me with your registered email address. It's essential to note that pancake steppers cannot handle 3mm filament, even when supplied with 1A of current. For optimal performance, consider replacing them with a half-height NEMA 17 stepper from Moon's. The ESteps should be calibrated around ~417.
