Total Remake of my Remix LulzBot TAZ 6 thingiverse.com/thing:2056402 This version combines the best parts from several printers I've designed and built over the years. The most significant upgrade is the MGN12 Linear Rails for the Y axis. The other printed components have been enhanced or improved in various ways. Zaxis carriage holding the Xaxis 12mm Rods now use m5 nuts instead of melt ins, allowing you to install either left or right side of the Xaxis. This adjustment helps prevent Xaxis belt tension from pulling Z axis rods out of alignment. When assembling the Xaxis onto the Zaxis without leadscrews, tighten the Xaxis belt and adjust the rods screws until good tension is achieved and the Xaxis runs up and down the Zaxis smoothly without binding on bearings. Try to maintain close to equal tension on top and bottom Xaxis Rods for parallel alignment. I print all frame parts in PETG and only use PLA for components like Motherboard and LCD case. Print area: 300 x 300 x 270 Z height depends on the hotend, but this measurement is with E3D Titan and Hotend. Using a Volcano will reduce Z axis by about 10mm. To increase Z axis, add to the 2020 4x 500 (height), leadscrew, and 10mm Smoothrod extra amount desired. The Y axis frame setup depends on the bed used. The 2x 287mm 2020 rails have a 20 x20 angle screwed to the end with a printed insert in the angle featuring an m3 nyloc holding the actual bed. I use a 314x314 PCB bed from 3DTek, making this design specific for that bed. Bed frame and rails are set based on center lines of holes in the bed, allowing you to adjust your frame size accordingly. Xaxis Cable Chain There are two mounts for the cable chain: one on the Xaxis Motor and another on the Xaxis Carriage. The chain is 10x20 and approximately 450 long (23 links). Motherboard Case This case is generic for most boards, requiring you to drill holes and install. It uses an 80mm fan and I run a USB Extender cable to plug in or a permanent USB cable to the PC.
