Lulzbot TAZ 5 X-Axis Dial Mount

I wanted to secure a precision gauge to the X-axis bars, guaranteeing my bed's flatness to its utmost potential. I utilized a basic yet effective dial indicator available at: http://www.harborfreight.com/1-inch-travel-machinists-dial-indicator-623.html. The dial mount needed to address several crucial factors: * It cannot be situated between bars due to the belts. * The flat edge of the print bed's surface should serve as a mounting point for the dial mount. * I had to ensure the dial mount could be reused. I opted for a 1/4-inch bolt to secure the dial. It's essential to note that the dial mount permits some play in the dial indicator's mounting hole. **Mounting Instructions** **Materials** * One 1/4"-20 x 1" bolt * A corresponding nut **Printing Requirements** * Print your preferred model. If unsupported, print with support. * In case of a printed model with support: + Remove support material from the areas that will interface with the X-axis mount and where the dial sits flush with the print bed (2 locations). + See the print bed's bottom surface for these areas. **Assembly Steps** * Mount the dial indicator so its back is level with the point where it attached to the print bed. * Utilize Z-adjustment to place the dial in an ideal position for measuring the distance from the print bed (metal) and follow calibration steps outlined for your printer.
