I finally grew weary of the idler constantly wearing out, so I decided to modify the original design, allowing the guide tube to perfectly fit into place. This simple adjustment effectively eliminates any unnecessary friction within the idler guide. Months have passed since I made this change, and the result has been a remarkable lack of wear on the modified part.
