I love my TAZ 3, but one major issue keeps popping up - the x-end stop is in a terrible location. This design flaw prevents me from mounting left-hand cooling fans, so I had to add a right fan mount just for symmetry's sake. However, there was no room on the exterior of the duct for the fan, forcing me to create an internal fan setup. To make this work, I cut out a hole exactly 40mm in size to fit the fan perfectly - a mere .3mm tolerance ensures it fits like a glove. The wires are routed through a cleverly placed hole in the side of the model. To top it all off, I used LED Strip Connection Wire for the connections, allowing me to hot swap fans and disable one without affecting the other. With some heat shrink added for good measure, my TAZ 3 now boasts a sleek and functional cooling system.
