LulzBot Mini Spool Holder
thingiverse
This Thing is a spool holder upgrade for LulzBot Mini printers designed to eliminate filament snagging on the stock holder's small grooves. I've been printing leftover ABS from our Fortus 250mc machines at work, and these spools consistently get caught in the original holder's arm. To solve this issue, I created this adapter that replaces the arm with a more robust design. Simply remove the two M5 bolts holding the original arm in place and swap them out for this new adapter, requiring longer M5 bolts to secure it properly. This spool holder can be easily adapted to fit other printers, ensuring smooth motion and effortless filament changes. For those interested in building their own, I've attached a .PDF document outlining the necessary parts. Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.25 Infill: 25% Design Process: I designed this spool holder using SolidWorks, and I'm happy to share the .sldprt files with anyone who'd like them. To assemble the adapter, ensure a light press fit for the bearings and 5/16 bolt in their respective parts. The adapter requires tapping to accept a 5/16 - 18 threaded rod.
