Lulzbot Mini Round Spool Support Bushing
thingiverse
The standard spool arm on the Lulzbot Mini boasts a square top, which clashes with the round interior of a filament spool. This clash is especially pronounced with full/heavy spools, causing uneven tension and jerking as the square corners supporting the round spool hub fail to compensate. This spool bushing is 50mm in diameter, making it an ideal fit for most standard spools that have 52-57mm ID hubs. Simply insert the bushing into the spool, then slip it onto the Lulzbot Mini's spool arm. The result is a long, curved surface providing even tension, all without any modifications to the standard spool arm. For small diameter spools (like the Taulman spools), the bushing can be easily removed. A Sketchup design file is also included for your convenience. Printer Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .25mm layer, .5mm nozzle Infill: 40% Notes: This bushing is intended to provide a friction fit, and your printer calibration (particularly extrusion steps) may affect the fit of the support channel on your spool arm. I recommend doing a test print, perhaps the first ~10mm, to check the fit of the support channel on your spool arm. If it's too loose or too tight, adjust your extrusion multiplier accordingly before launching the full print.
