Lulzbot Mini Enclosure Door Latch
thingiverse
This two-part rotating latch serves for installation on 3mm thick acrylic doors. Alongside Hinges (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:755437) and Stress Relieving Washers (www.thingiverse.com/thing:755320), these printed components make up the complete door assembly for the Lulzbot Mini Enclosure. The enclosure minimizes part cracking and warping, while providing a secure seal to keep dust, rodents, and children's fingers from reaching into your printer. A slightly larger latch design was added, reducing its dependence on precise printing dimensions. Instructions: Print this latch at 10% fill and use a single shell for the best results. Due to the variable print quality, some users may need to make adjustments to ensure smooth mating. Bolts secure with an M3 machine screw. An 8mm hole is required in the acrylic door, exactly 4.5mm from its edge. The latch handle serves as a door stop and can rotate for locking. Its eight-sided pin mates perfectly with its slot, allowing it to lock securely at multiple angles. When properly installed, it works smoothly and effectively. Optional detent holes may be added to the door frame to enhance security by providing additional resistance against the rotating handle. Version 2 has a larger design, relying less heavily on printer precision.
