Lulzbot Mini Enclosure Door Latch
pinshape
Summary This is a two-part rotating latch designed for use on a 3mm thick acrylic door. Along with the Hinges (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:755437) and Stress Relieving Washers (www.thingiverse.com/thing:755320), these printed parts make up the Complete Door Assembly for the Lulzbot Mini Enclosure. The enclosure minimizes cracking and warping of parts, providing a secure environment that keeps dust, rodents, and rugrats out of your printer. A larger version of the latch has been added, with less emphasis on precise printing dimensions. Instructions This latch was printed at 10% fill and a single shell. Depending on print quality, it may require some touching up to ensure proper mating. Bolts together using an M3 machine screw. A 8mm hole is required in the 3mm acrylic door, positioned 4.5mm from the edge of the door. The latch handle base acts as a stop for the door, while the handle rotates to lock the door in place. The mating pin and slot are eight-sided, allowing the handle to be aligned at various angles relative to the latch arm. This results in a very smooth operation. An optional detent hole can be added to the door frame to create a more secure locking action. Version 2 is larger and less dependent on printer tolerances for proper function.
